BIOGRAPHY OF Dr. SAURABH SONWANI

Dr. Saurabh Sonwani is an Assistant Professor at Department of Environmental Studies, Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. He has eight year of research experience in the field of Atmospheric Chemistry, Processes and Impact of Air Pollutants on Environmental Health. He also has three years of teaching experience in the field of Environmental Sciences. Dr. Sonwani is also an active member of TOAR-II IGAC project, working for the Tropospheric Ozone Assessment, Associate member of Air Pollution Scientific Initiative (APSI), EnviroComp Institute, USA and Advisory Board Member in Environmental Sciences section at Cambridge Scholars Publishing House, England, U.K. Dr. Sonwani has completed his M. Phil. and Ph. D. from the School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India and M. Sc. from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. In his Ph.D. work, he established the relationship between the wet deposition process and carbonaceous aerosol scavenging from atmosphere. He has also done the morphological and elemental characterization of the particles collected through wet deposition process. In his M.Phil. work he was involved in the characterization and health risk assessment of atmospheric Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Delhi. He has been awarded by Junior Research Fellowship and Senior Research Fellowship in Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences by Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, India and University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in the discipline of Environmental Sciences. He has also presented his research work in several national and international conferences like AGU, AOGS, DUST, EGU, SGM, NSSS, IASTA, Asia Flux and INTROMET and awarded several national and international travel grants to participate in these conferences. Till now, he has published more than twenty research publications in reputed peer reviewed journals. He has also contributed three books with publishers of international reputation. He has also conducted several internship, workshop, conference and webinar for undergraduate, postgraduate students and early career researchers at national and international level.
